This session is designed to equip existing volunteer leaders with the tools and strategies needed to successfully grow their volunteer leadership team. We'll explore the key elements of a volunteer leader's role, understand the essential skills and qualities that make great leaders, and learn practical methods for approaching and encouraging volunteers to step into leadership positions - including organizing events, creating shadowing opportunities, and addressing common barriers. By the end of the session, you'll feel confident and empowered to foster a thriving, motivated volunteer leadership team within your nonprofit!
Speaker Bio:
Nicola Lake has extensive experience both working and volunteering in the nonprofit sector, leading on volunteer management and developing training initiatives at a variety of organizations. Currently a Vision for Volunteering Champion, Nicola offers a wide range of practical resources and consultation services via her own company, Resourcevol - specializing in volunteer recruitment, induction and training.
